How much would a 3 point diamond weigh in carats?

I'm not good in this math staff. In my local jewelry stores diamond are sized by points and not by carat, which confuses me since I'm used to carat weight. Can someone tell me what is the ratio between points and carats or to make my life even easier: How much carat are 3 points?

Diamond weight is divided into 100 points. Thus, if your diamond has 3 points it will weight approximately 0.03 carats. If your diamond were to have 100 points it would weigh an even 1 carat.

1 carat = 0.2 gram
3 points = 0.03 carat = 0.03 X 0.2 gram = 0.006 gram = 6 miligram
