My 16 year old girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I am desperately trying to think of an affordable jewelry present to get her. Any suggestions?

If you insist on getting her something personal then jewelry always works for me. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants are all good choices no matter how old your friend is. And I would be surprised if at the age of 16 you could afford precious gemstone jewelry so I understand your plight. Maybe you should buy simple banded jewelry, I.e., jewelry that isn't set with stones at all. Or perhaps you can get her jewelry embedded with fake gemstones, after all you are on a budget and only 16! Cubic zirconium stones are a good alternative to diamonds, they're affordable and have a nice look to them. In addition, you could opt to buy her jewelry set with her birthstone (assuming that her birthstone isn't a precious gemstone). You could even consider buying her jewelry that doesn't contain precious metals. Instead of buying gold, silver or platinum jewelry you could opt for silver or surgical steel jewelry.

I think a 16 year old girl would love to get hoop earrings as a birthday present. Hoop earrings are really in fashion at the moment and they are the latest crave amongst 16 year old girls right now (speaking as a mother of a teenager girl). In terms of costs, you have a really wide range of possibilites when it comes to buying hoop earrings – you could find some for only $10 USD or less and others for even hundreds of dollars. The price actually depends on the quality of the metal and whether you choose to add some gemstones to it or not. I bought my daughter beautiful sterling silver hoop earrings from an online jewelry company for only $30 USD, and she was really impressed with them! Because they were made from real silver, she really enjoys wearing them and bragging to her friends about them! If this amount is within your price range and you could afford it, then I would recommend getting your girlfriend real silver or real gold earrings, because they would last longer and look better. Hope I was able to help!
