My daughter is graduating high school and I'm so excited. I want to show her how proud I am of her and of her achievements. I was thinking of getting her diamond jewelry. What do you think about a diamond encrusted Italian charm bracelet? Is it in appropriate gift for a high school graduation?

I think an Italian charm bracelet is a great gift for any occasion, but for a graduation it's absolutely perfect! Italian charm bracelets are totally unisex so you can't go wrong with this one. This is a really important thing to consider when purchasing a gift for a young man since most teenage boys wouldn't be caught dead in a regular charm bracelet with dangling charms, whereas Italian charm bracelets actually became a fashion fad when famous soccer players in Italy started wearing them. The beauty of an Italian charm bracelet is not only that it works well for both men and women, but that you can personalize it as well. You can personalize an Italian charm stating the year of graduation (like "Class of 2009"), special photos, names, sayings, whatever you want! Just keep in mind that since there are traditionally 18 charms on an Italian charm bracelet, you probably shouldn't choose all the Italian charms yourself. I would suggest giving the graduate a chance to pick out the Italian charms he or she wants. Another option would also be to give the graduate an Italian charm bracelet with only one charm that you have chosen and leave it to him or her to choose the rest of them. If you want to spice it up a bit, you could add charms with gemstones or diamonds as well. An Italian charm bracelet could be a gift that is comprised of major milestones in this person's life – high school graduation, college graduation, marriage, children, anniversaries, etc. or it could just be a fun sort of mix of all the various things you know he or she would like – film stars, pets, athletes, colors, the possibilities are endless. Also, if the person you are presenting with this gift leads an active lifestyle or tends to lose things, then Italian charm bracelets are definitely the way to go since thanks to their stretchy band, they never fall off and there's much less of a chance of the Italian charms being harmed since they're not dangling charms.
