What do women prefer? Diamond or pearl jewelry?

I'm planning on buying my wife a gift for our upcoming anniversary, and am torn between getting her a natural white pearl strand or a pair of diamond stud earrings. What do women prefer, diamond jewelry or pearl jewelry?

It is chiefly a matter of taste, even if we took a pole worldwide and found that most women prefer diamond jewelry, the woman in your life may very well prefer pearl jewelry. In general, both diamonds and pearls are considered classic.

For an indication of what the woman in question would prefer, ask yourself if you are interested in purchasing jewelry appropriate for day or night? For a day at the office, pearl jewelry could be more suitable than diamond jewelry as pearls are more understated, while diamonds are great for a sparkly night out on the town. However, this is certainly not a rule set in stone. There is much more to purchasing jewelry than deciding on the gemstone, the design can change the entire effect of the piece. Fancy pearl jewelry can be more ostentatious than diamond jewelry at times. A good way to find out what she prefers is to pay attention to the type of jewelry she wears.

The fact that there are even songs about the two gems together, like "Diamonds and Pearls" by the recording artist Prince, just goes to show how much they are a beloved choice among women, whether together or apart. If you can get both diamonds and pearls for the lovely lady in your life, I say go for it! Any woman would be more than happy to receive either of them any day.

Why not get both diamond an pearl jewelry! No seriously, it depends on the girl and on her style. Some girls don't really have a preference, others prefer not to wear either. Diamond Vs. pearl is a function of a girl's or woman's subjective taste. Personally, I prefer diamonds to pearls. I think pearls are a little bit 'older', they look a little old-fashioned, but hey that's just me. I think either type of jewelry would make a good, caring gift.

Well that really depends on the woman. Some prefer diamonds and some prefer pearls - they're not all the same, y'know. Figure out what your wife likes better - diamonds or pearls - by having a look inside her jewelry box. All diamonds and no pearls? That might be a clue. Or, you could just ask her.
