I had a BFF split heart diamond necklace when I was a kid and absolutely loved it. Should I get this diamond necklace for my 11 year old daughter and her best friend?

I think diamond split heart pendants are way cool, especially because they're not quite as popular as they were in the 80s. Now split heart diamond charms have an added retro cool quality too, 'cause the 80s and 90s are back big time. It's a great diamond gift to get your daughter, but maybe you should let your daughter give the other half of the BFF necklace to her best friend instead of you presenting it to both of them? Just a suggestion, but kids generally don't like it when their parents stick their noses into their friendships. I think it would mean a lot more to your daughter if you let her come up with the idea of giving the other half of this diamond gift to her best friend. It would make their sharing of the split hearts a lot more intimate and meaningful to them, because it would be just between the two of them.

Diamond split hear pendants could be the new fashion fad! After all, didn't Sarah Jessica Parker bring back the name tag necklace on Sex and the City? You never know when fashion trends from the 80s and 90s make their way into the present. I had a split heart pendant when I was younger with my best friend and as an adult you can definitely do the same with, perhaps, your daughter (or for your daughter and her friend like you're asking). Definitely cool and she will love it.

Although they aren't nearly as popular as they were about 20 years ago, best friend split heart necklaces are still out there, and in my opinion they are still way cool, and are appropriate diamond gift ideas. There are a wide variety of styles out there, and I'd recommend you go with the most timeless and least cutesy version for your girls. Juicy is the company that I've found with the most diamond BFF broken heart necklaces. In my opinion these lovely necklaces make a wonderful, unforgettable diamond gift your daughter and her best friend will love and cherish.

totally! how could they not be? i mean, didn't you have one of those when you were little? i did! and i would definitely go ahead and buy that for my daughter nowadays. she could like split it with her friend if she wanted to.... or maybe even with me :) just kidding. seriously though, i agree that the name necklace game back into style and therefore the best friend heart necklace with a diamond, that's split into two, could also be! so exciting!!! i recommend you go buy one and start the trend yourself. you would be surprised how many people join you. :)

In my opinion, split heart diamond pendants are a little 'dated'. I'm not sure that girls that young would want to wear diamond pendants. Consider, instead, trendier jewelry such as friendship bracelets set with their birthstones, matching identity bangles or identical diamond charm bracelets (they can trade charms or buy and add new charms to the diamond bracelets).
