I'm not sure. What would be an advantage to getting a handmade engagement ring as opposed to a regular traditional engagement ring? Don't they all look pretty much the same? You mean so that you can custom design it yourself? Don't they make pretty much every design of diamond jewelry nowadays? It would probably be much more expensive. And on top of how expensive it is to begin with, not sure why you would want to put yourself through that!

For sure! I've seen lots of independent artists and jewelers who make all different types of rings. I think you should find an artist you like and tell him your likes and dislikes. I might suggest finding you own diamonds to use in the ring though.
