I'm thinking about buying an armoire. How do I choose?

I really want an armoire that matches my furniture, but I haven't been able to find any that have enough room for all of my necklaces. Can anyone help?

When looking for jewelry boxes, jewelry cases or armoires, you should never choose based on design- it should always be based first and foremost on the kind of jewelry you are storing or need to store. If you are storing lots of necklaces, then you might want to look for an armoire with long opening doors. Typically you'll find that the doors are equipped with necklace hooks. The longer the doors, the more space you'll have for hanging your necklaces. If you don't like doors, you might want to consider an armoire that has a large mirror area inside. On the mirrored ledge you can place your own necklace hanger. Also, make sure that you are buying a jewelry armoire, not just any old armoire. Jewelry armroires are specially designed with velvet, cloth or leather lining every drawer so as to protect your jewels. They also typically incorporate many small dividers or compartments so that you can carefully separate each piece. If you can't find something that works, you may want to consider a vanity table with a jewelry box built into the desk. That way you can store your rings, earrings, bracelets and brooches within the table, and set your own necklace hanger upon the desk. But, again, I stress the importance of the jewelry box as not simply a home accessory, rather as a keeper and protector of your jewelry.
