I have an abundance of earrings and need a place to store them without breaking the bank. Any ideas?

You can buy some velvet material from a fabric store and wrap each set in. Then just store them in any box.
There also these jewelry trees which have become quite popular. They basically have a long "trunk" and many "branches" that you can hang the earrings on. They are usually quite reasonably priced. Note: these will not work for stud earrings.

Make your own! My girlfriend has the cutest earring stand and she made it all by herself! All you need is 4 long pieces of wood, some connecting bolts or nails and some netting, like the kind that goes on the outside your windows. You simply create a square with the wood and nail or bolt each corner. Then on the back side, staple or nail the netting on. You can paint it or decorate it any way you like and hang it on your bedroom wall. Earrings hang really well on the netting and if you used bolts to secure the corners you can hang necklaces on them! BUT - I would not keep precious jewelry on this jewelry stand. If you have diamond earrings or silver or gold necklaces I would keep them in a safe and clean place.
