What exactly is considered to be a jewelry set?

This might sound silly, but I don’t even know what a jewelry set is. Could someone please explain?

well, when you have two different kinds of jewelry that look a like... like they have something about them that resembles each other, is made of the same materials... or aesthetically look alike, then more likely than not they could be a jewelry set. sometimes they complement each other rather than actually have the exact same design. like half of the design is on one of the jewelry pieces and the other half of the design is on the other. there isn't one way of designing a set. artists are generally creative when designing a set... there are so many ways to go about it, so i can't tell you a hundred percent that this is what a jewelry set consists of.

A jewelry set is basically a collection of matching jewelry pieces. For example, emerald stud earrings, emerald link bracelet and an emerald chain necklace that were all designed in identical metal setting could be considered a jewelry set. A jewelry set is not limiting in the sense that specific items from the set could actually be worn individually as well. However, it’s almost impossible to create a set from random jewelry pieces you happen to own because they will most likely differ in style and won’t look like a perfectly matched set. Therefore, if you are looking to buy a jewelry set, it is recommended to find the items at one specific store or with one specific online jewelry provider.

a jewelry set is basically a matching pair of jewelry pieces... so like a diamond in the pendant of a necklace could match the diamonds in the earrings worn by the same person. or maybe the chain of the bracelet matches the chain of the necklace or the chain in a pair of earrings. so either the chain will match, or maybe the type of metal, maybe the diamond, maybe a specific design... anything that, when you look at it, looks identical to another piece of jewelry. sometimes even jewelry sets can span to include pins, headbands, tiaras, rings, watches... i mean, there are so many different kinds of jewelry that i don't think there is a set rule about kinds of jewelry do or do not constitute a jewelry set. especially since fashion trends are constantly changing and what was never considered to be jewelry, today is at the top of the jewelry fashion world.

There is no exact science to this. Basically, any two pieces (or more) that seem to resemble each other, either in terms of setting or in terms of gemstone used, could be considered a jewelry set. Specific pieces making up a jewelry set could be rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Hope this helped!
