Is there any way I can change gold jewelry into silver jewelry?

I have grown tired of my yellow colored gold jewelry, and I wondered if there are any chemicals or polishing I could use in order to change its color to silver?

Not really. If your gold jewelry is yellow gold then the only way of getting your gold jewelry to look silver is by plating it with a silvery-white colored metal such as titanium, white gold, platinum or silver. A local jeweler can plate your gold jewelry for you. Also, plating is a rather in-expensive process. If, however, you're not interesting in plating your jewelry then I recommend purchasing low karat gold jewelry. The higher the karat of the gold the purer and more intense the yellow hue of the gold will be. Therefore, low karat gold jewelry can have a faint silvery tint to it, which may be the exact effect you were going for. Whatever you do, avoid using silver polish on your gold jewelry, it will not turn your gold jewelry silver, but may corrode the gold and damage your gold jewelry irreversibly.

The best possible way to change a yellow gold colored jewelry to a silver color is by giving it to a professional jeweler to get it recoated. A jeweler could recoat your piece of gold jewelry with platinum or another similar metal to change the appearance of your gold jewelry to have a silvery color. In effect, by doing so your jeweler would actually turn your yellow gold jewelry into white gold. You should not by any means attempt to change the color of your gold jewelry by using strong chemicals or polishing agents as you have suggested in your question. These sort of attempts could not only prove to be futile, but you could actually permanently damage your gold jewelry by doing so.
