When I was looking for sterling silver jewelry online I didn't see any indication that items come with the 925 stamp in the item description. Is the 925 so rare? Does somebody know which jewelry stores offer 925 stamped silver jewelry?

The 925 stamp isn't a feature that is always mentioned in the item description or treated like such a big deal by jewelers. Once you come across a sterling silver piece of jewelry you can ask the jeweler whether it has the 925 stamp and most likely that it does has the stamp, proving that the jewelry is authentic sterling silver. Unlike a diamond's certificate, which is a very important proof of authenticity (including important details about diamond features), the 925 is not so crucial or informative, but merely stating the jewelry material.

925 stamped silver jewelry isn't that hard to come by. The 925 stamp merely indicates that the jewelry is made with genuine sterling silver, composed of 92.5% pure silver. And since sterling silver isn't a rare metallic alloy, there is an abundance of 925 silver jewelry available on the market. Consequentially, you can purchase 925 silver jewelry anywhere, in local malls, actual brick and mortar jewelry stores or online. Just make sure that the 925 stamp is legit and that the jewelry comes with a warranty in case of damages and/or possible corrosion and tarnish.
