I just recently came across a very old looking sterling silver diamond ring that I found as I was walking through the woods. I was wondering if anyone could tell me any information about it. On the inside of the band there is a marking in the band its H S

Well I would recommend you take the ring to a jeweler’s and have them take a look at the ring for you, they can give you a good idea of what the ring is worth, the nature of the set stones, the make and material of the band, etc. Generally speaking, HS is a maker’s mark and it belongs to a Danish maker who dealt primarily in sterling silver. The ring is antique, its mark says as much, but as for its exact value, that can only be determined by an expert after having appraised the ring.
