I looked for charm bracelets at a few jewelry shops at the mall, and they all said they haven't carry charms or charms bracelets since the early nineties. I know charms are totally making a comeback, but where can I get me some??

There are many places where you can find charms and charm bracelets – from online jewelry providers to department stores and all the other options in between, like home shopping networks, gift shops (at the mall, hotels, museums), antique jewelers or flea markets (especially for vintage jewelry), high fashion jewelry boutiques, major jewelry retailers, catalogs, art shows, or even at the airport. As for charm prices, they can be anywhere from rock bottom to pretty expensive. It all depends on the types of charms you're looking to add to your charm bracelets or your charm jewelry collection. Prices tend to vary in accordance with the demand of a certain style and of course, how limited the specific piece is. If the charm that you are interested in is a one of a kind piece of jewelry you can't find anywhere else, then it will obviously be much more expensive than a charm that is widely available. The incredibly rare charms can even cost thousands of dollars. The precious metals (8K, 14K, 18K yellow gold, sterling silver, gold-plated, silver-plated, etc.), gemstones (diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, etc.), style, and time period all affect the prices of charms as well. For instance, mechanical charms are often quite valuable since they are made of detailed pieces that move. The majority of these charms were made between 1930 – 1970 so they fall under the category of vintage charm jewelry. The price of a mechanical charm can cost several hundred dollars since they are one of the most coveted types of charm jewelry. At present, due to the high demand for mechanical charms, jewelers are working on creating new mechanical charms inspired by the vintage charms so that they can be more reasonably priced and available to the masses.
