I want to solve this dispute once and for all: On which ear do gay men wear earrings and which ear is the earring location for us straight guy??

As a gay man I can tell you that the answer is more complex than you think. Men have been wearing earrings for ages. In the 80s and 90s earrings became popular again and somehow the left-right distinction was created within the gay community: Wearing an earring on the right ear indicated that a gay guy was sexually submissive, while wearing an earring on the left ear indicated that he was sexually dominant. Later on, as I guess that because "submissive" generated more homophobic associations than "dominant", straight men decided to wear their earrings only on the left ear. This is not a golden rule, though, and these days is not much of a distinguishing feature. Today it seems that all these distinctions are less prominent and people aren't categorized by superficial dress and jewelry codes like as before.

This dispute no longer exists. I think that it's been decades since two earrings meant gay and one earring meant straight. I mean, look who's wearing two earrings these days- famous stars like David Beckham, Ronaldo, Puff Daddy and more. These are famous, straight, male celebrities. Meaning, it's already very acceptable to wear as many earrings on whichever ear you want.

From what I gather men’s earrings can be worn on either ear. Left or right, it doesn't really matter. I am aware that earrings worn in the left earlobe used to signify a homosexual lifestyle during the mid 80's, however, that indicator has long since become irrelevant. Nowadays, men wear earrings in both earlobes, whether diamond stud earrings or small gold hoops or whatever, regardless of their sexual orientation.
