How do I use silver polish when cleaning and caring for my silver jewelry?
I am really afraid to harm my silver jewelry by incorrect polishing and cleaning. I would love to hear some useful information and tips regarding silver cleaning.

Silver polish should be used only on pure silver jewelry or sterling silver jewelry, and should not be used when the jewelry is set with gemstones.
- When using silver polish to clean and care for your silver jewelry:
Do not use a metallic container for mixing the silver polish. The chemicals in the silver cleaning products can react badly with certain metals, and can cause the silver jewelry dipped inside to oxidize.
- Line the container you're using with aluminum foil, which will keep the polish from drying up too quickly.
- Fill the container with hot water
Add the polish into the container and stir.
- Place your silver jewelry items in the solution and make sure they rest on the aluminum foil.
- The tarnish on your silver jewelry will disappear within a couple of minutes. Remove the jewelry from the container and rinse it dry in warm water.
Dry off the silver with a soft cloth. Make sure the silver is completely dry or the humidity will cause it to tarnish yet again. Air drying silver jewelry will not achieve the desired luster.
