I heard that Heidi Klum was sued by a famous jewelry company after she ripped off their design and tried to market it in her own new line of jewelry. Is this true?

It is true that Heidi Klum began a jewelry line that was put to an end by an ugly law-suit. She and famous diamond mogul Pascal Mouawad joined forces to design and create the "Heidi Klum Collection". According to Heidi, she was on a trip to Italy when she was inspired by the clover-shaped design and used this shape as a base for her new line of jewelry. This new line included diamond studded pendants, bracelets, clover-shaped gold earrings, silver knotted clover earrings, and more. Van Cleef & Apparels immediately filed suit against Klum and Mouawad when the line was introduced featuring this special clover shape. According to Van Cleef & Apparels, Klum and Mouawad stole the specific clover motif that they had already copyrighted. The lawsuit was dismissed and settled out of court in the end of things, but it is still unclear whether Klum actually ripped Van Cleef off, or whether Van Cleef is being a bit too nit-picky about the resemblance of her clover to their clover. In case you are interested on getting your hands on the clearance jewelry that is left over now that their company is being liquidated, the products are now extraordinarily discounted and can be found on Heidi Klum's fan-site or the Mouawad site.
