I mean, she just stamps stuff on jewelry. Why is she so popular? Her designs are just plain, and boring. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Well, I don't know if I can explain it, but maybe if I give you some background it'll help. Aurora Lopez Mejia went into jewelry making to establish herself as a designer that believes in jewelry is symbolic, spiritual and empowering pieces. Her philosophy is that the primal impulse of ancient civilizations to wear gemstones, metals and amulets as protective and luck bringing forces was a real and true instinct that our modern society can learn from. By adding words to her jewelry, Mejia believes she is imbuing each and every one of her pieces with a certain power- a power in which the wearer, the designer and the piece of jewelry itself are all connected in a chain of giving and receiving inspiration. From what I understand, Aurora Lopez Mejia never really carved a path for herself into jewelry making and designer fame. It just happened. She began by making a number of personalized and meaningful rings and bracelets for friends and family (many in the entertainment business) who simply spread the word to their friends. Soon enough, there were celebrities coming to her and asking her to make them custom jewelry that expressed a specific emotion, a certain belief or symbolized a deep-set principle. She makes gold for everyone: men, women alike. Her materials are simple: plain stamped gold, plain stamped silver that incorporates gemstones and fabrics at times.
