Can fashion jewelry actually be called "Designer Jewelry"? Is there "designer" fashion jewelry for real?

I always thought that fashion jewelry was fake jewelry-like plastic, or fake silver or fake gold. So, how can it be called designer jewelry if it's fake?

The same way that you can buy versace designer sunglasses, you can buy designer jewelry. In these cases the jewelry is usually fashion jewelry but will be more expensive than regular fashion jewlry because it is a "namebrand"

You are correct that fashion jewelry is "fake jewelry". It can also be known as costume jewelry. However, this does not mean that it can't be both fashion and designer. Designer jewelry can be any kind of jewelry that is commissioned or invented by a specific designer, including jewelry made of plastic, wood, or other faux materials. So, when you see fashion jewelry advertised on a website as "designer jewelry" that's perfectly legitimate. Usually the term is used by jewelry stores to denote specific collections designed by one designer.
