Is there jewelry out there that is made from real plants?

I think the idea is cool, but I'm wondering how it's done...

Hemp is an extremely versatile plant material used not only to make cloth, but also jewelry! Necklaces, bracelets, anklets, belts and watch-straps can easily be made from hemp. There are a number of other cloth-like woven jewelries which are also made from plant materials alone. In addition, many rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants are frequently carved out of wood. Wooden jewelry is very fashionable, comfortable, light weight and beautiful. Also, I have seen a number of designers use techniques that coat dried flowers, leaves, seeds and stems in plastic. These preserved specimens can then be hung from chain bracelets as charms, from necklaces as pendants, from earrings, or can be strung together to create any type of jewelry. Of course, any amber jewelry you might buy is also of plant-origin. Amber is a hardened tree-resin.

Yes! There are lots of designers that do this, and the effect is both creative, beautiful, and totally unique. Some designers do interesting things like finding really beautiful leaves from trees and coating them in metal so that the shape is delicately preserved. I think the prettiest versions of this that I've seen are a pair of thai leaf skeleton earrings where gold completely coated the leaf skeletons of two hear-shaped leaves. So pretty. Designers also find interesting and beautiful ways of preserving flowers and other foliage so it can be made into pendants, earrings, and bracelets. Research yourself away!
