I'm an avid cyclist. I love biking. I also love my jewelry. I've been thinking that it would be really cool to make eco-friendly jewelry out of old bike pieces. Does anyone know if that already exists? Where can i find stuff like that? would it be hard for me to make on my own at home?

There are a number of designers that make jewelry out of recycled bicycle material. You should be able to find bracelets, and necklaces and earrings made out of old bicycle chains and bolts, old bike spokes, or recycled gear cables. I've also seen cuff-links, tie-clips, and tie-pins made out of bicycle chain. I imagine you could make these at home if you have the right jewelry making tools, but I'm not a jewelry maker, so I'm not sure. If you really want to make this into a project I'm sure you can find some site that explains "how to" make whatever jewelry you want. You may also want to do a simple google search for "recycled jewelry made out of bicycle parts" or something along those lines and look up the contact information of the various designers/companies that you find. Ask them how you might go about making it at home out of an old bike that you love. I hope this helps!
