Is there any special way to clean a dog's diamond collar?

My dog has a diamond collar (nothing too extravagant, I know that doesn't sound credible, but it's a really tiny diamond, didn't coast much, my friend bought it for her as a joke,) but it still IS a diamond, and I wanted to ask what I should know about cleaning this collar. Are there any tips I should be aware of?

No special way - the same way you would clean any diamond... probably the only difference would be - a lot more often. Even if your dog doesn't roll around in the mud and step into greasy slimy stuff on your walks, I'm sure she must at least slobber - like all dogs, and this means the diamond is not being kept in ideal cleanliness...
So in terms of "How," what I do, which I think is pretty standard is I take mild dish detergent and put a few drops of it in a bowl of warm water. Then I brush off the stones gently with a toothbrush and pat them dry with a cotton cloth. You friend sure has expensive taste..

A diamond dog collar? umm... I would say the best way to keep it clean is not to use it. If you want to use it on special occasions as a joke, OK, but to have such a valuable gemstone exposed to so much filth and grease just seems silly to me. If you ever want to sell it, it won't be in good shape if you will have used this collar on your daily walks in the park and won't fetch as nice a price as it could if you just keep it as a funny accessory. I don't know how active your dog is, but if she's lively and playful, the stone could easily break off too. I just wouldn't put a diamond collar around my dog's neck... You also don't want to be constantly worried about the diamond collar, not allowing your dog to play around naturally like she would like. You shouldn't have diamond preservation on your head when you go out to play with your dog. Playful outings with your pet should be fun and uncalculated. Well, that's just my two cents. Keep the collar as a surprising valuable little item, get yor dog a different collar and have fun with her!
