Can I ever wear too much ‘bling’?

My mom keeps telling me that I am wearing wayyyy too much bling, but I think it’s cool. My friends love my bling, and the ladies seem to like it too. Is my mom right when she says it makes me look tacky and like I am trying too hard? She thinks I should only wear one stud and one chain. I like to wear the biggest studs I have in both ears and I mix and match at least 3 chains at once. Is this over the top bling?

Mom’s often feel differently about fashion than their children, Your mother grew up in a different era than you, which means that she may not understand why it is important for you to wear ‘bling’.
As per you question, about the amount of bling, I think that it is truly up to you. Whatever you feel comfortable wearing, you should wear. I also think, that having a discussion with your mother about why you like and want to wear this ‘bling’ might make both you and her more comfortable when you choose to wear it.
The most important thing in life is that you be yourself.

Yes! You absolutely can wear too much bling. No doubt about it. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t get this whole thing about boys wearing big, flashy jewelry. I mean really, what is the appeal? I see young men walking around with huge diamonds around their necks. Haven’t you boys heard the timeless saying “diamonds are a GIRLS best friend”, emphasis on the girl. So, please take off the ‘bling’ and give the diamonds to your girlfriend, and if you don’t have one then maybe you should use the “bling” to try to nab yourself one. Good luck Son!
