Is Angelina Jolie's jewelry line eco-friendly?

I heard that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have a jewelry line...and since they are such good humanitarians I thought maybe it was an earth-friendly line.

I am very doubtful that this line is green or eco-friendly in any way. The environment is such a hot topic, that I think if it were eco-friendly this would be a very well advertised aspect of the product. This line was created to raise funds for Angelina’s charity the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. So, as wonderful as this line is for supporting the children in the world that are in need of aid, it does little or nothing to help the environment.

Asprey definitely doesn't advertise as being eco-friendly, but I do agree that supporting an organization like the one that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt run is a pretty good thing. I think, though, that it might be better, if you care a lot about the environment but like the Jolie/Pitt organization, to buy jewelry from a reputable designer that uses recycled metals and other eco-friendly materials (and produces it's jewelry in by a sustainable method) and also donate what you can to Jolie's organization, or another organization like it. Even if their jewelry is beautiful and goes to a good cause, if it is manufactured like other kinds of jewelry you are still supporting a non-sustainable production system when you buy their products.

My mother bought my daughter Roseanna a beautiful snake-shaped bracelet from Asprey on her tenth birthday. We all admire it so much, and Roseanna loves it...and it's great to know that it is good for the world and goes to support such important charity work. I don't know if it is produced in a GREEN way, but I think it more than makes up for itself in the charity donation, and the quality of the jewelry is unparalleled.

Well, I don't know about whether that jewelry line is eco-friendly, but I can say that it definitely DOES benefit the earth and all the people in it. The proceeds from this high-end jewelry line, which is designed by both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, go to support their organization for the education of children in areas of conflict, or where disaster has struck. I think the main areas that it supports are refugees in iraq, children in the sudan and haiti, and children affected by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The best thing is that the jewelry line appeals even if you aren't generally looking for charities to support with your purchases. The jewelry is mainly based around a snake motif, and it's made of precious metals and usually includes gemstones like emeralds or rubies. It features pieces for children and for adults, in both casual and more luxurious styles. Definitely a good thing to support, I think.
