What's Detonation nanodiamond?

A Detonation nanodiamond sounds sort of dangerous, and small... what is it and is it worth anything?

A detonation nanodiamond is a diamond nanocrystal, meaning a very very small diamond that's produced when a TNT mixture is detonated. These tiny synthetically produced diamonds are used in all sorts of applications such as polishing processes, they are added to engine oils(didn't know your engine oils have diamonds in them, did you?), the metal industry, filler reinforcement in rubbers and plastics, and they're added to galvanized electrolytes. These are all very important uses. Many are not aware that diamonds are used in so much more than just the jewelry industry, and these tiny diamond nanocrystals are invaluable in many industrial applications. Who knew, right?

They are also used in medecin, in cancer patients. Tiny nanodiamonds surround the chemicals given to cancer patients, know as chemotherapy, and prevent the toxic chemicals from penetrating healthy cells. These microscopic diamond nanocrystals shuttle the chemicals directly to the cancer cells, and then, after they've reached the target, the tiny diamonds don't cause any inflammation in the body.

A Detonation nanodiamond is a form of tiny (0.5 nm) synthetic diamonds that are produced when certain explosives are detonated. After the explosion, diamonds are retrieved from the soot and put through a method called HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature), and 2 days of boiling in acid, to remove metals and non-diamond carbon.the diamonds produced are very tiny, all around 5 nm. Their surface area of these synthetic diamonds is very large. Due to this structure, they often attach themselves to water molecules. Most synthetic diamonds produced in this method have imperfect structures.
