Yes there is a difference between cubic zirconia and moissanite. Moissanite is silicon carbide and was introduced into the general market place in the 90's. Moissanite stones are more reflective than diamonds which means they really shine and are very brilliant, but that also means its really easy to distinguish them from diamonds. Moissanite stones are not as hard as diamonds but they are harder than cubic zirconia. And unlike cubic zirconia, moissanites do have inclusions as well as a green tint. Cubic zirconia and moissanite stones are similar to diamonds in that they are mostly colorless and can be cut in the same shape. But cubic zirconia and moissanite aren't as popular in terms of popular jewelry wear so they don't really come in a lot of varieties of cuts.
