I don't know what size if a diamond I should choose for my engagement ring

I'm having a hard time deciding between a 0.25 ct center stone and a 0.35 ct center stone. I'm trying to get a feel for the size of the ct on the ring. My ring size is around a 5. Will a ring this size look good with a small diamond?

in terms of diamond sizes, I always say bigger is better. You can't ever get too big a diamond! Also, if you go down a few notches in clarity and color, the diamond will still look amazing (can't tell much difference to the naked eye.... and I dont think too many people walk around with microscopes) and you can get something much bigger.

FYI, if you get a real high quality diamond with excellent cut and clarity, you can get a smaller stone to look much bigger than it really is, because it's brilliance will probably be much more accentuated.

A ring size of 5 is a relatively small finger size, which is an advantage, since on relatively small ring sizes you could typically expect to have the diamonds actually seem bigger.
