I imagine that people and / or jewelry stores with expensive diamond items have probably gone to great lengths to keep their precious belongings safe. Any wild and crazy examples?

You've got that right! It's incredible what lengths people will go to in order to protect their diamond jewelry and diamond apparel. One prime example of this took place at the launch of the shoe collection at the Harrods Department Store in central London. At this exclusive European venue, a pair of diamond, ruby, and sapphire sandals created by the Italian designer Rene Caovilla (just a few of the celebrities caught wearing Rene Caovilla designer shoes are Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, and Jennifer Aniston) was guarded by no less than a cobra! Why a cobra you ask? Well, one would have to take a close look at the diamond sandals to answer that question, but we now know that there is a cobra design on the sandal's vamp and the cobra's eyes are made of real rubies. That being said, the brilliance of having an Egyptian cobra stand guard over these magnificent diamond sandals suddenly becomes perfectly clear! A poisonous snake is probably the most effective way to promote and protect these impressive diamond sandals at the same time! Furthermore, the department store also got the green light from security specialists who explained that a poisonous snake like an Egyptian cobra would be the absolute best way to guard such a valuable pair of diamond sandals. The snake was given back to its rightful owner upon completion of the launch of Harrod's shoe collection, so there's no danger of running into that snake at the department store any more. What can I say, if you had a $125,000 pair of diamond sandals featuring a cobra design with ruby eyes what would you do to protect and promote them?
