Are there any professional cleaning & care products for my diamond jewelry?

All I seem to encounter are home-made solutions for cleaning your diamond jewelry, but I'm looking for something a bit more professional. Where could I get these specialized diamond cleaning products? Or can I get my diamond jewelry professionally cleaned?

I just use special soft jewelry wipes and gently wipe away any dust that might have accumulated on my diamond jewelry. I heard that jewelers often recommend using wipes as opposed to solvents because it gives your diamond jewelry a more delicate clean. I usually buy wipes called Connoisseurs Regular Formula Jewelry Cleaner for $5 USD – they come with a special brush that could reach the most delicate parts of my diamond jewelry, and it's pretty convenient to use these wipes on any type of precious gemstone encrusted jewlery.

I used to get my diamond jewelry professionally steam-cleaned at a jewelry store for a lot of years, until one day my jeweler recommended that I actually went ahead and bought one for myself for home use. He told me that the best thing to use in order to clean diamond jewelry is steam because it's not as harsh as other chemical cleaning solvents out there. So I purchased a steam cleaner called Jet Jewelry Steam Cleaner that I'm really happy with! All I need to do is just add tap water, and when I push the button a strong jet of steam shoots downwards, where I place my ring. I feel that this is truly the best way to clean my diamond jewelry, as the results are so fantastic and it looks so professionally done – I'm just disappointed I paid so much money for professional cleaning over the years when I could have just done it myself at home. Speaking of money, by the way, this steam cleaner is not exactly cheap, and you could purchase it online for $99 USD. Still - I think it's a very good purchase because I make really good use of it (I clean my diamond jewelry twice a week), and like my jeweler before me I strongly recommend it!

You should keep in mind that any porous gemstones such as pearl, emeralds, jade, opal, etc. require a different cleaning method to non-porous gemstone jewelry. Usually you cannot use the same cleaning solvents on these more delicate gemstones, as strong solvents and creams tend to eat away at the natural gemstone and irreversibly damage them.

I own a jar of Connoisseurs New Revitalizing Jewelry Cleaner. It comes in a red jar that contains 8 ounces, and it's pretty cheap too. It's better to get this online as it's much cheaper this way – 4 jars are priced together at $15 USD. I'm pretty happy with this stuff; it works fine with my diamond earrings. This cleaning formula also says that it's supposed to "fill in the tiny scratches that build up on your diamond jewelry over time" and this way to "give your jewelry better brilliance", but to be honest I never noticed this effect as I don't think I have too many scratches on my diamond earrings anyway. Oh, it also has a really nice smell to it!

I just use Mr. Clean Window Cleaner to clean my diamond jewelry, but don’t underestimate this product! I started using this product only after my diamond dealer recommended it and said that it cleans your diamond jewelry just as well as any other fancy diamond care product out there. Also, keep in mind that this is the best value solution in terms of costs, averaging at about $8-$10 USD in price. However, if you own white gold diamond jewelry I would refrain from using window cleaners because they might contain ammonia residues.

I bought the Branso Ultrasonic Cleaner to give my diamond jewelry a good clean. This cleaning is based on ultrasonic waves that somehow clean the diamond jewelry. I kind of wish I never bought this because all I see on the internet are recommendations NOT to use ultrasonic cleaning methods. They say that these devices tend to loosen the diamond from its mount because they create very powerful vibrations. Having said that, so far my diamond is still in place and nothing of that kind happened to it. Just keep in mind that purchasing this piece of cleaning equipment could set you back a few hundred dollars, so I would do a bit of research before I decide to invest in this.
