I've heard about diamond studded cell phones, but never about diamond studded laptops, so when a friend told me that these things actually exist, I had to find it out for myself! So does anybody know if there really is such a thing as diamond encrusted laptops?

Yes, actually there is! A unique company called Computer Choppers, which specializes in customizing all sorts of technological devices (such as phones and laptops) has come up with several special edition designs for Apple's latest word in laptop technology, that is the Macbook Pro. With one edition, Computer Choppers used Apple's special anodizing coat of super resistant metal (which Apple uses for all their laptops), but painted it black instead. For the interior of the laptop, they coated the keyboard and touch pad with 24 carats of gold to give it a unique and dazzling look. And to top it all off, they made the apple logo on the back of the logo really stand out from the black exterior. They coated the apple logo with 24 carats of pure gold, and completed the look by encrusting it with matching yellow colored diamonds. Another special edition MacBook Pro laptop issued by Computer Choppers is even more spectacular then its counterpart. This time they coated the MacBook Pro with an exceptionally shiny coat of 24 carat gold throughout the entire laptop – along the outside as well as on the inside. Computer Choppers really made the apple logo on the back stand out from the gold background by encrusting it with several brilliant round cut colorless diamonds. So, as you can see, diamond encrusted laptops really do exist!

London based company named Luvaglio is another company which specializes in creating luxury goods, amongst which you could find exclusive laptops featuring diamonds. The CEO of Luvaglio was quoted saying that they didn't want to just take a laptop and cover it with diamonds, but rather create something more original and innovative. That was the thought and drive behind their $1 million laptop masterpiece. The laptops in this luxurious collection are fully customizable with a selection of leathers and real woods to choose from as an external coat. The common feature, however, of all the laptops in this collection is that they all come complete with a diamond power button. This diamond power button actually serves several purposes. For starters, it provides a unique custom style look which was coveted in the first place. But as a matter of fact the diamond could actually be taken off the computer and worn as jewelry in the form of a diamond ring. However, the most impressive element of this diamond power button is that it actually acts as a security device! I don't know if you are aware of this, but the truth of the matter is that no two diamonds are the same, and in fact each and every diamond could be differentiated from another. Luvaglio has taken advantage of this fact and was thus able to implement the diamond as an identification feature! Meaning, the laptop cannot be operated unless the owner's unique diamond (not just any diamond) is inserted in its appropriate place. I find it somewhat ironic that the security device mechanism is actually more expensive than what it is supposed to protect! But that is exactly what you get if you have a million dollars to spare…
