For diamonds...

The HCA calculator, or Holloway Cut Advisor, is a system that allows you to get a better idea of the way a round diamond returns light, as well as its scintillation and fire.
In order to do that, you need to enter some information about a specific diamond in the program : the depth %, the table %, and ideally the crown angle and the pavillon angle.
Should you not have the last two information, you can also enter the crown % and the table %, although it would be best to have the angles if possible.
It is mostly used to help eliminating diamonds from a large pre-selection, but it's always better to get an expert's opinion on a stone you consider anyway.
You can consider this as the first step towards determining whether a diamond is your perfect stone or not.
