I'm looking for the optimal cut on a cushion diamond, but I can't find any info- just the other 3 c's. Help!!!

I'm a complete ignoramus when it comes to this...

Well, that's because graders such as the GIA don't grade fancy cuts such as princess, cushion, ascher etc... Instead they note the table, depth, symmetry, ratio and girdle. The recommended table for a cushion is 53%- 65%, although in some cases it may slightly vary. The recommended depth would be about 65%- 58%. When choosing a girdle try to stick as much as possible to the medium range. An excellent ratio would be a 1x1.20x1, and a VG one would be 1.21x1.25x1.

It's probably a good idea not to skimp on color and clarity, because like most fancy cuts, it will be very visible.
