My best friend is getting married and I'm planning on getting her a wedding gift, but I don't want the gift to be too generic. Can I give her diamond jewelry as a wedding gift?

If it matters, I'm male and she's female, and I'm also kind of concerned that getting her diamond jewelry might be a little inappropriate because it will compete with her diamond engagement ring. I get along fine with her husband to be, but I don't want him to take it the wrong way, especially because, how should I say, I'm a little more well endowed in the financial category than he is.

Most certainly! What bride would say no to diamond jewelry? If you want to avoid generic wedding presents (such as stoves, ovens, toasters, kitchenware, bed-sets etc.) then diamond jewelry is always an acceptable alternative. Here are some diamond jewelry wedding gift ideas for your consideration:

1.Matching diamond  bridal sets
- The bride and groom receive matching diamond jewelry items placed into one jewelry box. For instance, if you bought the groom a diamond watch, the bride would receive matching diamond earrings or perhaps a matching diamond bracelet. These sets are highly affordable since they usually come in spectacular deals. You could find these sets online with discounts of up to 70%.

2.His and Hers  jewelry
Rings
and bands for the bride and the groom which match and are part of a bridal set. These include both diamond and plain bands.

3.Regular diamond jewelry
- Diamond jewelry which doesn't necessarily match in any way. Diamond jewelry in general is a classical choice and doesn't always have to match.

Ugh, you've really got yourself up a creek here. Listen, if you think there is any chance in the world that your gift of diamond jewelry might be misconstrued in any fashion, you are best off seeking other alternatives. Causing unpleasantries at the wedding is really uncalled for, and why risk sabotaging your close relationship with the bride? Or with her husband to be, for that matter? There are plenty of other gift options that are special and unique besides diamond jewelry. If you're really set on buying her jewelry, why don't you look into sterling silver charm bracelets, gold necklaces with gem-set pendants, both of which can be quite personalized to the bride's personality and tastes. You can even go for pearl jewelry, such as dangling pearl earrings, pearl bracelet or pearl necklace. There are also plenty of options besides jewelry per se, that can grant long lasting memories, like a gift certificate for a spa weekend.
