My BOYFRIEND of 6 years, that’s right 6!!!!! Has a ring phobia! We have been together for 6 years and he still hasn’t proposed, not only that, I am really doubtful that he ever will. He says that he is happy the way things are, that he doesn’t want to do anything that will “change” us. He also says that one day he wants to be married and have children. I am so annoyed! I love him very very much but come on! How long am I supposed to wait? And what does “one day” even mean? How can I make him like it and want to put a ring on it?

Unfortunately there is no sure fire way to get a proposal from your boyfriend. People move at different speeds in relationships, which means that you are not always on the same page. I think that what is important here is that you decide what is really matters to you: marriage or him. Would you want to be married to someone else? Would you like to be with him forever?
Another suggestion that I can offer, is that you buy yourself a ring. If it is a ring that you are after, why not do it for yourself. No ,matter what you will always have you, and what better way to show yourself that then by buying a diamond ring for you, from you.

When I read this I thought, oh no! Coming from a man who has lived many a year, I think I need to be the one to tell you that he might just not be that into you. Men who say they want a wife and kids, usually want a wife and kids. It shouldn’t take him 6 years to decide that you are the one. Maybe you should have a really good talk with him to figure out what this is all about and if in fact you two are each others’ soul mates.
