Could someone please tell me once and for all which finger is meant to adorn a diamond eternity band? Consider the fact that I wear a diamond engagement ring and a platinum wedding band on my left hand ring finger.

Many times eternity bands are actually used as wedding or engagement rings. Obviously, if you are wearing it as a wedding ring, you place it on your left hand, ring finger. If you already have a wedding ring, and/or engagement ring, then you can wear it with your wedding band or engagement ring.
Because diamond eternity bands are a classic, simple almost always only diamonds, they can be worn paired with any other diamond ring. Diamonds and diamonds go well together. In fact, if your rings are small enough, you can wear all three together. I would only recommend that the base metal of your eternity ring and the base metal of your engagement ring/ wedding band be the same. However, the combination of bands shouldn't weigh your finger down or make it seem "diamond heavy". You don't want to look like your whole finger is turning into a diamond. A diamond ring should be a delicate accessory, not a flashy overpowering mound on your hand.
If the three rings is too much for one finger, then separate them, or mix and match. You can replace your engagement ring with your new eternity ring, or you can replace your wedding band with your new eternity ring. Whichever you prefer.
