I have a bi colored s12 diamond colorless with a greenish brown section that is about 1/4 of the cut.

I have a platinum ring with a s12 1.41 carat non enhanced pearl solitare that is 11 x 6.8mm. The diamond is untreated and colorless with a checkerboard pattern. However this diamond has a green/brownish color through 1/4 of the diamond I was told this is very rare and that the greenish brown would add to the rarity and value of the diamond. Have i come across something of value here?

Try diamondpricebluebook.com. I am looking for a ring for my wife and this site has been very helpful.

Unfortunately most likely you will not retire based on this diamond's value. Many times colored diamonds are indeed rare but that doesn't make them valuable. the fact that it's COLORED doesn't necessarily mean that it's considered a FANCY COLORED diamond. Would you happen to have a grading certificate with this diamond? That would really help providing an appraisal.
