I'm looking for diamond solitaire stud earrings that are a bit more "dressed up". But I only want one diamond, and I don't like diamond jackets. Any suggestions?

If you don't like diamond stud jackets, and you are looking for diamond stud earrings with one solitaire stone that are a bit more "dressed" up, then you should look out for some designer solitaire stud earrings. There are some out there that do have elaborate settings, or relatively elaborate settings. Some of these are simply prong settings that have thick metal prongs, making the prongs look like flower petals. I've also seen bezel and half bezel settings that have been fashioned to look like leaves, flowers or other ornamented metal around the solitaire diamond.
Rothem Collection has Flower Stud diamond earrings, which are very classy and very beautiful, set in a bezel setting fashioned to look like flower petals. Bella True also has a number of large white gold settings that also have a frame around the set solitaire diamond stud. On a few other designer diamond sites, I found various settings that are elaborate, modern, and interesting. There are some that feature two tone settings with yellow and white gold framing the diamond, and others that are more like tension settings, making the diamond look like its floating between two pieces of metal that bookend it.
Also, depending on your budget, you might want to consider getting a diamond solitaire stud earring with a simple setting but an interesting diamond shape. Simple solitaire diamond stud earrings that are heart shaped, pear shaped, or even emerald shaped, can be absolutely stunning without being over-done. Princess cut diamonds (square diamonds) can also have quite lovely accenting settings that hug the corners of the stone and make the stone look even larger than it really is.
So to make a long answer short, there are diamond solitaire stud earrings that have elaborate settings, you just have to look a little bit harder to find them.
