I was a teenager back in the 80s and I pierced my ears all the way up. I have six holes in one ear and three in the other. I know it stopped being trendy in the 90s to wear so many earrings, but now that the 80s are back with a vengeance, can I go back to wearing earrings in all the holes?

That depends on what look you're going for. If you want to look punk rock and your motto is Anarchy with a capital A, go ahead and put a bunch of earrings in your head - though save at least one hole for a safety pin. If you want to look attractive and classy - and I would assume that you are at least in your mid thirties if you were a teenager in the 80s, stick to one set of earrings at all times.

Don't listen to those prudes! Have some fun. Put a couple of earrings in each ear, although if you are into dangling earrings or hoop earrings I would recommend wearing only one set of dangling earrings and stud earrings in the rest of the holes. A cool and contemporary way to take advantage of a double piercing is to thread a thin gold chain earring through two of the holes. That's a great way to update your look and appear refined and subversive at the same time.

The 80s are back but that doesn't mean we have to make the same mistakes all over again! Over piercing was hideous in the 80s and it's hideous now. I think wearing one earring in each ear is the most attractive and sophisticated look, whether you go for small diamond stud earrings or larger chandelier earrings. Wearing any more than one pair of earrings just causes a cluttered and chaotic look, and doesn't sufficiently emphasize any of the earrings. Stick with one set of earrings, and please don't start hair spraying your bangs either!

Ugh, the 80s. I can't believe they're back. Unless you put the most delicate and small diamond studs in all the holes, i would say don't overdo it with lots of earrings. If you go for multiple earrings, make sure they match each other and don't create a hectic and childish look. If you choose, say, a bunch of small black onyx stud earrings paired with a classy black cocktail dress, I think the ear-wear might add a stylish and with-it touch to your overall look. A bunch of light blue sapphire stud earrings paired with a sun dress could look totally glamorous too.
