This might seem like an odd question, but I simply can't understand the connection between a tennis diamond bracelet and the actual game of tennis. Does someone have any insight on this matter?

Actually, there is in fact a correlation between the name of the diamond bracelet and the tennis sport itself. It all came about by the famous tennis star Chris Evert, who was well known for sporting diamond encrusted bracelets. During the 1987 annual US Open competition, Evert lost her diamond studded bracelet in the middle of the game. When she realized she suddenly lost the bracelet, the game actually had to be temporarily halted while she searched for it. The incident quickly became known as the "tennis bracelet incident", and it didn’t take long for this term to strike roots in the jewelry industry. What once was simply known as a diamond line bracelet now became regularly referred to as the tennis bracelet. And that is how a tennis bracelet received its name.
