I am not a married man and don't intend to get married in the near future. Recently I got a gorgeous diamond ring and I need to decide on which finger to wear it. I prefer not to use the regular ring finger so I won't be mistaken for a married man. Nothing like destroying my chances with the ladies.

I'm not sure you can wear a ring and get away with it. I'm a single woman and when I want to know whether a certain man is married I just look at his hands and check if there's any ring. I don't stop and think on which hand moreover on which finger the ring is worn, once I see a ring in sight I immediately conclude that the guy is taken! Is it so important for you to wear a diamond ring? If it is I suggest that you realize that many women would mistake you for a married man. I hope that when you hit on a lady she won't think you are being unfaithful to your "wife", this won't make you look good. I suggest that you wear the ring but simultaneously wear a shirt saying: "single man" or something wittier. Otherwise the terms "married guy" and "gay guy" will come in women's mind much more often than "single guy", but perhaps you could still pick up girls this way...

In order not be mistaken for a married man, I suggest that you wear your diamond ring on a finger that is distinctly not your left hand ring finger - the farther from that finger the better! Wearing your diamond ring on the right hand is the best option, maybe on your index finger or even better, the right hand ring finger. Just try to avoid the pinky, and, well, the middle finger would also make a quite inappropriate choice for a single man's diamond ring:)
