A guy at a pawn shop in Nevada tried to sell me a diamond watch that he insisted used to belong to Paris Hilton. Huh?

Does he think I'm an idiot? How on earth could he have gotten Paris Hilton's diamond watch? He was asking a pretty hefty price for it too, and he even said I could have it appraised to prove that all the diamonds were 100% real.

I think that you are right... it probably was a fake. I think that the chances that the diamond watch belonged to Paris at one point is probably slim to none. I wouldn't get my hopes up because there are so many fraudulent jewelry pieces out there. I've heard other pawn shop owners making up lies about the jewelry they sell and where it came from, etc. Don't believe everything you hear.

That sounds pretty fishy to me. The thing is, Paris Hilton's house did get broken into about a year ago, in December 2008, and a total of $2 million in jewelry was burglarized from her house. Apparently, one of the pieces of jewelry that was stolen was a diamond studded watch! Now, there is a snowball's chance in hell that somehow the burglars that raided Hilton's jewelry box sold the jewels to a pawn shop in Nevada, but even if they did, do you really think he would be telling you? It does make the diamond studded watch more attractive to potential buyers, but is that really worth the risk of landing in jail? In any case, if I were you, I would call the police, and report exactly what the pawn shop broker told you. Hey, if he was just kidding - that should teach that conniving ragamuffin a lesson, and if he wasn't - then you helped crack the case - go Nancy Drew! Police suspect that a ring of burglars has been preying on the homes of Hollywood celebrities, who tend to keep a pretty hefty stash of expensive diamonds and jewelry right at home. The LAPD suspects that the burglars who plundered Paris Hilton's house are the same posse that broke into Lindsay Lohan's home this year and looted her diamonds and jewelry too. Actually, Lohan's house was hit up twice (!) this year. The ring of thieves also targeted Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson too.
