While researching for my mid-term paper I'm writing about the British Royal Family, I happened to stumble across photo of the princess taken over a decade ago. She looked absolutely stunning dressed in a green dress and breathtaking diamond jewelry to match. I would really love to learn more about this amazing diamond jewelry set.

Indeed in 1993 Diana, the Princess of Wales, participated in a royal banquet held by the king of Malaysia in London. She wore a beautiful draped green dress with a matching green silk clutch, and several diamond jewelry pieces to match. For starters, she wore her famous diamond tiara, a precious heirloom from the Royal Family and the Spencer family. In addition to her gorgeous sapphire engagement ring, Diana also wore a diamond tennis bracelet consisting of two rows of diamonds. However, the most eye catching ensemble of jewelry would have to be her diamond and emerald art-deco choker with dangling diamond and emerald earrings to match. The stunning art-deco designed necklace consists of a large round cut emerald centerpiece, surrounded by four smaller round emeralds on either side and four smaller emeralds between them. All emeralds are completely surrounded by a halo of diamonds, and they are all connected with a think band made from four rows of brilliant cut diamonds. All in all, the necklace consists of more than a hundred small diamonds and 18 round emeralds (varying in size). The dangling diamond earrings to match are designed to have a large diamond stud connected to a row of both round and square cut diamonds that lead to a large tear shaped emerald gemstone surrounded with a halo of small diamonds. This set is truly remarkable and was actually originally remodeled by Queen Mary, about a century ago. The diamond and emerald necklace and earring set was inherited by Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, who later passed it on to the possession of The Princess of Wales. After Princess Diana's tragic death in 1997, the jewelry set was given as a part of the special royal exhibition named "Dress for the Occasion" in order for public display. This royal exhibition displays several attires and diamond jewelry worn by Queen Elizabeth II throughout her reign.
