I know that it may be a problem to resize promise rings since they are set all around with small diamonds, but I just can't wear my promise ring, it keeps slipping off my finger and I'm afraid I'll eventually lose the ring. Can it be resized in some way?

Diamond eternity rings are actually a bit of a challenge to resize, depending on whether the set diamonds go all the way around the full circumference of the ring's band or not. If its a half diamond eternity ring, which means the diamonds are only set in the front half of the band (the part that shows) and not on the back, then it is no problem to get the right ring size. The eternity ring can be resized just like any other engagement ring or wedding band by bringing it to the jeweler and resizing the metal. That's actually why half eternity rings can make a better gift if you are not completely certain about someone's precise ring size. Regular diamond eternity rings, that have diamonds all the way around, are actually quite difficult to resize. If the ring is too small, one way of resizing it is filing away some of the metal from the inside of the band, but that can only increase the roominess inside the ring by about a millimeter or so. And there isn't really any other option, except getting into adding or taking out stones. That is a really messy business, and you are probably best off just getting a new ring. The ring size is exactly based on the number of diamonds and the size of the diamonds going around the band, so it can only be resized in large (stone-size) increments and the resizing might mess up the settings of the other diamonds mounted around the ring band. If you bought the ring recently, you can most likely have it exchanged for another identical ring of a slightly larger size or choose a similar eternity ring to replace it. Even if the ring was ordered online, most online jewelry shops have an at least 30 day exchange policy.
