What looks better in an engagement ring? White gold or yellow?

I am custom designing an engagement ring for my boo, on a great jewelry website where you can design your ring with just a few simple mouse clicks! Anyway, I've got the whole ring planned out, I just can't decide whether to go for white or yellow gold. The ring has a large heart-shaped diamond in the center, with two tiny pink round brilliant cut diamonds on either size. So, what do y'all say, yellow or white gold? Help a brother out.

Certainly that depends on your personal preference. In my experience white gold complements fairer skin and yellow gold complements darker skin (but that's open to interpretation). If you are still ambiguous as to which color you prefer I suggest getting a double banded ring and have the bands be both yellow and white gold. That way you can have it all!

When I think yellow gold i think of my mother and grandmother's wedding bands and engagement rings ... all of my sisters and myself have engagement rings and wedding bands made of white gold or platinum, which is another option, but a more expensive one. My family's jeweler insists on pairing the right type of gold color with the gemstone type (diamond, ruby, pearl), and the individual's skintone ...
