I don't want to steal the show from my fiancee, but I would also like to wear a nice fancy engagement ring, not just a simple and dull band. Is it possible or is the world not ready yet for nice men's engagement rings?

First of all, I agree that if you don't want to steal your fiancé's thunder, it would certainly be a good idea to discuss it with her first and definitely make sure she likes your engagement ring too. Since engagement rings are not exactly an inherent part of your average men's jewelry department, you can actually use this to your advantage. You can decide what kind of ring you think symbolizes your engagement and would serve as the right engagement ring for you. It doesn't need to resemble your fiancé's engagement ring or any other engagement ring for that matter! You are opening up a whole new concept here so it is all up to you. If you can't seem to find the men's engagement ring you're looking for in jewelry stores or at online jewelry sites, then perhaps you should consider custom designing your own ring. That way you will get just the type of engagement ring you want.

If you are aware of all the risks, you could enter your local jewelry store and discuss a special engagement ring design with the jeweler. You wouldn't be able to design a setting as delicate and soft as what your fiancee would wear, but you can find something that would make you feel glamorous enough. Just make sure your fiancee approves your engagement ring.

Where have you been looking? There are a zillion stores out there that sell fine men's jewelry and even more online that specifically specialize in men's diamond engagement rings. It all depends on your taste. The best thing to do in a case like yours is to custom design your own engagement ring, or talk to a jeweler about the kind of engagement ring that you are looking for. What don't you like about the engagement rings that you have already seen on the market? what are the few features that you do like? Compile a list, have an idea of what kind of metal you are looking for, and make the engagement ring of your dreams. As long as your fiance has a beautiful diamond engagement ring as well, there is no way you can steal the show.

If you've exhausted your search at your local jewelry stores and malls, and you still haven't found what you're looking for then I suggest going online and browsing for your desired engagement ring. Online stores carry a wide selection of men's engagement rings in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs. You are bound to find the ring of your choice at one of these stores. A word of caution, after selecting and before purchasing the item, check out the stores online reviews and overall reputation. Make sure the store is reputable, that the quality of its merchandise is up to par and that they do not overprice. Also, double-check the store's return or refund policies, in case you regret buying the item or it arrives damaged.

Finding a high diamond setting ring for a man, with prongs and other delicate features is almost impossible I'm afraid. It's not only because of traditional, chauvinistic habits, but also due to rather objective reasons, for men's fingers are much bigger and a delicate engagement ring could be more vulnerable on such location. Most men are also more into physical activities than woman, thus such an engagement ring would face many risks.
