Is it true that Walt Disney recently released a new collection of diamond engagement rings inspired by their princesses?

I really want to know if there is a line of Disney princess inspired diamond engagement rings. If so, how do they look like? Where can I buy them? It seems like such an adorable idea…

Yes, you heard right! Walt Disney plans to release a new line of stunning diamond engagement rings in the upcoming spring of 2010. Kirstie Kelly, the design mastermind behind Disney's engagement rings is also known to design princess inspired wedding gowns for bridesmaids. Currently, only six princess inspired diamond rings designed by Kirstie Kelly were actually revealed. Each diamond engagement ring is carefully designed in such a way that would evoke subtle references to the personalities of each Disney princess:

  1. Sleeping Beauty – featuring a beautiful cushion cut diamond surrounded with a milgrain border encrusted with smaller sized diamonds. The ring itself is pave set, surrounded with encrusted diamonds all around.
  2. Snow White – this ring consists of a stunning brilliant round cut diamond nearly a carat in size. The ring itself features twenty one diamonds set in small round platinum halos all around the band, making the diamond ring sparkle from every angle.
  3. Cinderella – this is actually a three stone diamond ring. The diamonds are princess cut (how fitting) and the ring is encrusted with smaller diamonds all around, creating a milgrain diamond halo border. It actually looks like an antique style diamond ring and it symbolizes Cinderalla's ethereal grace and charm.
  4. Jasmine - This is truly a unique masterpiece of a diamond engagement ring. It features three square shaped diamonds, each framed with a border of smaller sized diamonds. The square diamond borders are positioned in such an angle that they actually form three diamond shapes on top of the band. This creates an exotic pattern reminiscent of what could be found in ancient mosaics originating from ancient Persia.
  5. Ariel – another unique diamond engagement ring which is unlike any engagement ring I have ever seen before. It is influenced by art deco and is actually symbolic to Ariel's bold individuality. It features a round brilliant diamond in prong setting, but the band itself is what really makes the diamond stand out. It features a baguette diamond and three smaller diamonds on either side of the center diamond that are set inside the ring itself and revealed by carefully positioned slits on all three sides of the band.
  6. Belle – Inspired by the beautiful Disney princess, the Belle diamond engagement ring symbolizes beauty that is simple and elegant at the same time. It is in fact a three stone round brilliant diamond ring set on top of a clean metal band. This could be the perfect choice for a bride who prefers the more traditional type of engagement ring design.
