I don't really get the hullabaloo about blue diamonds anyway. If I wanted blue gemstones, I'd get sapphires instead of color enhanced diamonds. The idea of color enhancing diamonds sounds gauche to me - yes I admit I'm a bit of a snob.

Girlfren, you gotta set your priorities straight! Your husband REMEMBERED your anniversary - what have you got to complain about??? If my husband ever remembered our anniversary, that would be enough for me. He could get away with giving me a bag of pretzels, never mind blue diamond earrings. Just suck it up and wear the earrings - they sound gorgeous, and you sound like an arrogant brat.

Why on earth would you prefer blue sapphire earrings to real blue diamond earrings? Diamonds are so much more prestigious and expensive than sapphires. When was the last time you heard someone say that 'sapphires are a girl's best friend'? Never? Exactly. Because they're NOT! Diamonds are where it's at, lady. Stick with the diamond stud earrings that your husband gave to you, and don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Especially because your husband apparently has better taste than you, snob or no.

Color enhancing diamonds is a permanent process, and you cannot change a diamond's color again once it is made into colored diamond. If you are so displeased with the blue diamond earrings, why don't you bring them back to the jewelers and exchange them for blue sapphire stud earrings? Unless your husband is a gemologist, he'll probably never be able to tell the difference, and that way you guys are both happy. You got your sapphire stud earrings, and your husband believes that you love the gift that he gave you. Plus, sapphires are usually cheaper than diamonds, so you can use the extra to buy yourself another piece of jewelry.
