Copper actually boasts many health benefits. People who have arthritis can see a serious decrease in their symptoms when wearing piece of copper jewelry, the reason for this decrease is unknown, but it is believed to be due to micro emissions of copper from the piece. It has also been shown that wearing a copper bracelet, for example, can aid in the healing of wounds as well as strengthen the immune system. Some people notice a green color on their skin when wearing copper, this is a reaction between the metal and the oils on the skin and is perfectly normal, and in fact the green color should simply wash off with a little soap and water leaving the wonderful benefits behind.

Not really. Copper is actually an essential chemical. Copper deficiency is just as common as copper toxicity. Actually if you do have a copper deficiency, wearing a copper bracelet might actually be beneficial. Sure, it's not good to inject copper into your body or live next to a copper mine, but copper is important and is definitely crucial to the development and well being of one's joints, bones, the nervous system and the blood system. It also participates in a lot of biochemical reactions and a copper deficiency can be quite dangerous. So if you are having a problem with any of the above systems, wearing copper jewelry will most certainly not hurt. Our body is pretty good at keeping excessive levels of copper out.
