My girlfriend's favorite color is blue. But not in a normal way. She is a FANATIC. everything she owns is blue and she knows the names of dozens of shades that I didn't even know existed, and in different languages. I am planning to propose to her next month and I want to get her a blue gem. I was thinking of going with sapphire but most of the sapphire rings I found are way out of my budget. Then I learned that blue topaz exits too. Is it considered cheap? Is it pretty? Is it the wrong move?

Absolutely not cheap! if it's a genuine gemstone, of course it's gonna be a beautiful engagement ring. Personally the gesture would even be enough for me. I don't need fancy diamonds and sapphires or blue topaz crystals to make me happy when my bf is asking me to be his wife. And with a ring in my favorite color... personally I wouldn't mind if the ring were plastic. It's the gesture that girls (and I think people in general) love. But to answer your question, Blue Topaz is most certainly not considered cheap in any way.

Hi there. Well first of all congratulations, and from a girl's point of view I want to tell you that any beautiful jewelry that you selected with care, in her favorite color, when you're asking her to MARRY YOU will be adored by your girlfriend. I have no doubt. Blue Topaz is a crystal. I personally love crystals. They are my favorite gems. They really are stunning. And there are many very serious reputable jewelery stores that sell a wide variety of jewels with crystals, including blue topaz, in a wide range of budgets to suit your personal financial means. There ARE some STUNNING blue topaz that are considered anything but cheap.
