My best friend is getting married and I want to buy her something special to mark the occasion. I don't want to get her any diamond jewelry since she already has her diamond engagement ring and she's not big on wearing diamonds. What about pearl jewelry? What does it symbolize?

I'm not so sure about pearl jewelry. I myself think that pearl jewelry is a little outdated. Your friend is a young bride (I'm assuming) and I think she may prefer trendier jewelry. If you can't afford to get her diamond jewelry then semi-precious gemstone jewelry and birthstone jewelry are both great alternatives. You could get her a beautiful bracelet set with her birthstone or gorgeous earrings mounted with inexpensive opals, which would nicely complement her wedding dress. Anyways, just make sure that the jewelry you do decide to get her matches what she plans on wearing. Maybe you should play it safe and ask her what kind of jewelry she would prefer before you go out and buy it for her.

Pearl jewelry is a great option when it comes to bridal jewelry. Pearls are an amazing substitute to diamonds, since these precious gemstones can be as traditional as diamonds, yet are more subtle looking. However, before you make such an expensive purchase, I suggest you confer with your friend on what type of jewelry she prefers to get as a gift. Since you say she's not too big on diamonds she may not be too big on pearls. She may prefer gemstones which are a little more youthful in appearance, gemstones or birthstones which have a little color to them. I would check with her beforehand, to make sure I'd get her the perfect gift.

The ancient Chinese believed that the pearl's liquid core was actually the tears of a bride, who had recently gotten married and that wearing pearl jewelry on your wedding day was a good omen, and would prevent a bride from ever shedding tears again. So, pearl jewelry is a great gift to give to a future bride. Also, many brides choose to wear pearl jewelry on their wedding days since pearls are such a traditional and classy gemstone. Pearl jewelry is a great accessory for a bride, since the elegant look of the gem nicely complements the bride's apparel. The type of pearl set jewelry you choose to give to your friend is entirely up to you. However, if I were you I'd ask her what kind of jewelry she'd prefer to get. She may already have earrings, so a pearl strand would be a nice additional, or maybe the neckline of her gown is high and she would prefer a pearl bracelet.

Pearl jewelry is a great idea, you're a really amazing friend… I mean not all of us can afford to give our friends diamond jewelry as a wedding gift, so pearls are a great and very affordable alternative. Not to mention that pearls are very traditional and would probably look amazing with your friend's wedding gown. I personally prefer pearl jewelry to diamond jewelry when it comes to bridal jewelry. My bridal jewelry was made entirely of pearls, so I'm betting your friend will be ecstatic about a nice piece of pearl jewelry. Good job!

Pearl jewelry would be a lovely token of your affection and would be an amazingly generous and thoughtful gift. Since pearl jewelry is traditionally worn on wedding days, perhaps you should get her pearl jewelry items which match her gown so she can wear them during the actual ceremony. Pearl jewelry symbolizes beauty, elegance, purity, success and joy. By giving her pearl jewelry you would be wishing her a lifetime of happiness filled with love and bliss.
