I saw some really good deals for loose diamonds at a jewelry store in the mall. Is this a reliable place to buy diamonds?

Do you have a good reason not to buy diamonds at the mall? As long as you know that the jewelry store you are buying from is certified to sell diamonds and all of their diamonds come with conflict-free certifications, you can rest assured that this a totally secure place to purchase diamonds. Many Tiffany’s stores are located in malls and it is clear that Tiffany’s brand has a name for excellence and totally legitimate diamonds. It is all about the store and their legitimacy to sell diamonds. There is no reason for you to suspect that you are being sold fake diamonds or very low quality diamonds if you can be presented a certificate from the vendor.

Absolutely. Particularly if the store is a big chain. Buying from a large chain is usually not a bad idea because they are quite reliable. How else would they have gotten so successful? One thing to know is that buying diamonds online is typically much cheaper because you cut out the middlemen, employee costs, etc. that retail stores have to cover. Buying online can be a little scary, especially the first time, but I think its definitely worth it to check them out. There are many large companies that offer all kinds of guarantees, grading reports and free shipping. You can also design your own ring, etc. on many of the websites.

Well, personally I don't think you should buy any kind of jewelry let alone loose diamonds at a mall. While it maybe advertised as a good deal, the fact is is that the diamonds might be of really poor quality or could be cubic zirconia or simulated diamonds. Plus most diamonds from the mall probably aren't certified. Try going to a private jeweler or gemologist - they can definitely help you make an educated decision.
